What is SUVCW and what is JOHN S. KOUNTZ CAMP 14?

We honor Civil War veterans by creating online memorials to them. The SUVCW National Graves Registration Project. Our long term goal is to find the burial place of every Union Civil War veteran who is buried in the 8 counties of NorthWest Ohio. We restore or mark burial sites.
We teach patriotism and the duties of citizenship, the true history of our country, and the love and honor of our flag. The SUVCW assists the proper teaching of American history in our schools of NW Ohio.
How can I get involved with SUVCW CAMP KOUNTZ?
You can get involved by first attending our meetings. Then, you will ger a feel for what we do. You can join on our website, but there is a membership prerequisite that you must be able to trace your family tree back to a Civil War veteran ancestor who served on the Union side and was honorably discharged. We also welcome associate members (i.e. anyone interested in supporting our mission and honoring our veterans, & a traced ancestry to a Civil War soldier is not required.).

Is there a membership fee to join SUVCW CAMP KOUNTZ?
Yes, there is a yearly membership fee of $60 (plus a onetime $5 initiation fee for new members) to join us, which helps support our activities and initiatives. This fee is $17 for camp 14 dues and $43 for Dept. of Ohio dues (although the dept. dues are prorated in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th quarters).
